Welcome to the 28th Annual Olympia Film Festival, where cinematic Treasures Abound! Whether you’re a newcomer, haven’t attended in a few years, or are a steadfast celebrant, we are delighted to share this year’s treasures with you!

Your festival spans ten decades of masterful filmmaking. There are jewels for each of you: young or old, playful or serious, occasional moviegoer or film enthusiast. Within these pages, you will find silent films, and films that are LOUD. You will discover films to excite your mind, and films to tickle your fancy. You will unearth films never before seen, and films you’ll want to see over and over. You also will find snapshots of the many filmmakers who will share pearls of wisdom and cherished nuggets from their lives.

Get ready for a festival full of amazing guests and exclusive premieres!

This year’s silent film selection includes a crown jewel: Alfred Hitchcock’s first screen credit, The White Shadow, having only its 4th screening in 87 years, accompanied by a live world premiere orchestral score by Michaud Savage. As if that wasn’t enough, Bob Milne, generally considered to be the greatest living ragtime pianist in the world, will premiere a new score for the 1924 film of Peter Pan.

Balancing out the classics, we have an extraordinary number of premieres: Regional premieres of the great Hungarian filmmaker Bela Tarr’s swan song, The Turin Horse, 2011 Cannes Grand Prix winner Once Upon a Time in Anatolia, and the genre-bending British thriller Kill List (not slated for a US release until February!)

And have we got an All Freakin’ Night planned for you… Killer worms, mutant orgies, psychopathic anthropologists, extraterrestrial Kyle McLaughlin, and director Brian Yuzna in attendance, also for All Freakin’ Night we’ll be hosting a Mourning After Breakfast Fundraiser at the Clipper with cartoons, make your own bloody marys, and the Artesian Rumble Arkestra marching us there ! Wow!!

All of this just scratches the surface of the more than 50 events at the 28th Annual Olympia Film Festival. Visit olympiafilmfestival.strangertickets.com for more information and to book your tickets today!

What is the date of All Freakin Night?
Last year you had it too close to Thanksgiving and the turnout was poor. My guess is the kids had to go home for the holliday.
Please bring back the wristbands. It keeps line cutting down, and if the weather is bad you get to warm up.
    AFN since 2001.
    Thanks in advance.
