“It’s that time of year again! The Olympia Film Society is now taking submissions for the 27th Olympia Film Festival! If you want the chance (no guarantees!) to get your work up on the big screen in front of hundreds… potentially thousands of rabid film fans submit your feature, short, or whatever it may be to one of the coolest alternative film festivals on the west coast. To submit your work please go to our website, www.olympiafilmfestival.org and fill out the submission form (please note that there is a fee for submitting a film: $20/feature - $15/short). Or, if you have any questions, feel free to contact the festival programmer; Ivan Peycheff at programmer@olympiafilmfestival.org.

Early submission deadline is August 25th, 2010. Final deadline is September 17th, 2010. So get those entries in and take that step toward fame and fortune! Who knows, you could be the next Federico Fellini… or Ed Wood. The only way to find out is to submit your work!

7^th Annual What You Got? Youth Festival

The Olympia Film Society is presenting What you got! The 8th Annual Olympia Youth and Young Adult Music and Film Festival! It is the goal of this festival to foster the vitality of our community by providing a venue for vivacious and creative youth. In regards to inspiring a variety of youth self-expression, this festival is a 2 day celebration of youth-teen culture; showcasing movies, bands, and artwork made and performed by folks 21 and younger.

Past bands featured during the festival include: Violet Flame Meditation, Thought Bandit, The Gypsies, Repeaters, Rattle Snack, Patterns, Outlook, Grab the Bat Killer, Rythm Fire School Band , Mythological Horses, Kick in the Pants, Ciel, Centralia College, Kimya Dawson, Fitz of Depression, Laura Viers, Old Time Relijun, and much more!
