The 15th Annual Olympia Experimental Music Festival
Friday, June 19th through Sunday the 21st
at the Northern, 321 4th Avenue in downtown Olympia
and the Capitol Theater, 206 5th Ave SE (FILM ONLY)

All shows start at 7 p.m., except for Sunday, which begins at 6 p.m.
The Film Showcase is from 1 to 3 p.m.

Tickets are $8 per night, $20 for a Full Pass
 
About the Festival:
Since 1995, The Olympia Experimental Music Festival has been one of the premier yearly celebrations of experimental music and film in the Pacific Northwest. A truly grassroots event, the festival has existed solely through our wonderful volunteers, small business sponsorships, benefit performances, and the unified sense of community held by the participating artists. The festival embraces all forms of sonic exploration, from modern composition to harsh noise to ambient electronics and beyond. Throughout the years the festival has had plenty of artists from the Pacific Northwest Perform, including many with a national following within their respective genres such as Steve Fisk, Climax Golden Twin, Bill Horist, White Rainbow, Any Denio, and many others. But the festival also strives to expose it’s audience to national and international artists as well, and artists from as far away as New Zealand have made the pilgrimage to Olympia. The Olympia Experimental Music Festival is a celebration of sonic and visual abstractions in an intimate environment, and shouldn’t be missed by anyone with such passions.

Microcosmic Abyss - A matinee showcase featuring experimental film, video, animation, and music from local and international artists. Two hours of visually stimulating short films interwoven with live performances by Seattle guitarist Bill Horist, Danish laptop artist Jakob Riis, and Olympia based collaborative trio Bridget Irish, Carrie Keith (Gun Outfit), and Heather Hall (White Boss).
