Directed by: Andrew Bujalski/ 2009/ USA/ 100 minutes Beeswax is an inventively lifelike comedy that explores the lives of a group of twenty-something friends living in Austin, Texas. Jeannie and Lauren are twin sisters who share as many differences as similarities. Jeanie is the responsible one, running a small business, while Lauren is the flighty one who is still trying to figure out what to do with her life. Meanwhile, important decisions are pondered, ex-boyfriends suddenly appear, and the complexities of life are dealt with all in this subtly brilliant movie. A.O. Scott of, The New York Times calls, Beeswax, “a remarkably elegant film”.
